  • Paksé: A city in southern Laos at the confluence of the Mekong River and the Xe Don River. Paksé is situated on a plateau where tea and coffee are cultivated
  • Bolaven Plateau: One of the main agricultural regions of Laos
  • Champassak: A major agricultural region in Laos, known for its fertile land. It primarily grows robusta coffee introduced by French colonists, along with tea, pepper, cardamom, and rubber plantations
  • Siem Reap with Angkor, meeting the history of the City of the Gods. An incomparable jewel in the heart of a devouring jungle, in an atmosphere respectful of an admirable past

Itinerary

  • Your adventure in Laos has started:
    • Upon arrival at Vientiane's International Airport, you will be welcomed then privately transferred by a professional driver and an English – speaking guide to your arranged hotel for relaxation.

    Overnight at hotel

  • Transfer by private car with driver to the airport of Vientiane for your flight to Pakse.

    You will be welcomed upon your arrival at the airport to start a day of exploration.

    Take the road to Boloven Plateau (1250 m altitude)

    Discover magnificent waterfalls named Tad Lo and Tad Fan. (Zip – lining is available – additional charge).

    The plateau is also home to various ethnic groups, and you'll visit some of their villages with traditional stilt houses made of wood, bamboo, and woven materials.

    Visit a village inhabited by an animist tribe of people called Khaleune (Katou)

    At Houey Houn we will see women busy working on their looms, making their distinctively different designs, and using the looms in a special way.

    On the way, detour to the village of Ban Sapaie, an area well known for its weavings of cotton and silk, and other textile productions.

  • Transfer by private car to reach the Champassak.

    Visit Vat Phou temple, the temple of the mountain and a former Khmer ruins sacred place of the 9th century, heritage site by UNESCO in 2001.

    Transfer to the site of the "4000 islands" and its wonderful peaceful landscapes. 

    Transfer to Khong Island, the largest of this group of islands.

  • Discover the village of Ban Khong to see the Wat Keo Phouang Temple, and the magnificent Buddha, protected by seven heads of Naga’s.

    Detour and stop by at the local market to discover the trade of palm sugar and other commodities.

    Then, take a motor canoe through the region of the 4,000 islands to enjoy a look at river oriented life.

    Stop at Khone Island to see the old colonial mansions of the French period, and while on the island we visit two waterfalls: the Li Phi falls and the spectacular Phapheng Waterfall,

    The day concludes with the observation of rare, white "Irrawaddy" river dolphins.

  • 3 – 4h drive

    Transfer by road to Dong Kralor, on the border with Cambodia.

    After completing Customs formalities and meeting your Cambodia guide, we drive, via Stung Treng, to Ban Lung, capital of Rattanakiri

    Then, take a walk or a car to the volcanic lake, Yak Lom 

    If time permits, take a stroll around the lake.

  • Morning visit to the local market.

    Continue to Kachang Waterfall,

    Enjoy a relaxing break and a chance to swim at the waterfall.

    Drive toward Kratie

    Continue to Prek Kampi, a natural site along the Mekong River that serves as a sanctuary for the endangered Irrawaddy freshwater dolphins.

    Take a small boat to cross the Mekong and explore the mangroves.

  • Departure for Kampong Thom, passing through Kampong Cham

    • Visit the “Hill of Men” and the “Hill of Women,” featuring the Phnom Srey and Phnom Pros sanctuaries.
    • Crossing rubber plantations, a visit to the rubber factory will explain the stages of rubber production.
    • Continue the journey toward Kampong Thom.
    • Discover the Sambor Prei Kuk temples of Chenla
    • Explore the site built by King Ishanavarman during the 7th and 8th centuries

  • Transfer to Siem Reap, passing by Tonle Sap Lake.

    Finding yourself surrounded by a completely aquatic landscape of Kampong Khleang Village:

    • Take a look at the local market, the pagoda, and the primary school.
    • Then, appreciate panoramic views of Asia’s biggest lake. Gap at the vast Tonle Sap Lake as you sail across it.
    • Tonle Sap has been listed as a World Natural Heritage Site since 1997.
    • Try your hand at fishing using local techniques!
    • Lose yourself in this azure scene, and rejoice in the overwhelming power of nature.

  • Arriving in Angkor Thom by tuk – tuk :

    • Visit the Victory Gate,
    • Visit the Bayon,
    • Visit the three – tiered Baphuon
    • Visit the Royal Enclosure and its small temple, Phimeanakas.
    • Pass through the Terrace of the Elephants
    • See the Terrace of the Leper King
    • Discover the impressive Ta Prohm temple
    • Visit the majestic Angkor Wat temple with exquisite bas – reliefs, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
    • Attend an outstanding Apsara dance show – dinner.

  • Cross the Kulen mountain range, a sacred site in Cambodia.

    Take a short forest walk to reach Kbal Spean, also known as "The River of a Thousand Lingas".

  • Visit the Roluos Temples, 15 km from Siem Reap,

    Explore the pre – Angkorian Roluos Temples,

    • Continue with the Neak Pean,
    • Discover Ta Som,
    • Explore the Baray,
    • Visit the Eastern Mebon, a temple situated on an island in the middle of the Baray,
    • Conclude the day with a breathtaking sunset at the temple – mountain of Pre Rup,

    • By bike, explore the local activities and follow the path of the Angkor temples
    • Afterwards, join a local family to learn the art of Cambodian cuisine.

    • In the afternoon, visit the fishing village of Chong Kneas by the lake.
